BARBARA CARPER
President
Barbara is president and founder of Profit Soup. Her main focus is on helping our clients gather and use information to build value in their business.
Barb’s management and CPA background along with her years of experience working with industry leaders in franchising and trade associations have enabled her to build and implement maximum value benchmark initiatives. She is skilled at analyzing and presenting financial information so her clients can use it to learn from the past to set direction for the future.
Barbara is a sought after presenter, trainer and facilitator. She has a special talent for making financial topics clear and entertaining and for demonstrating that finance really can be fun!
KATE GROOM
VP Franchise Support Services
Kate is our VP franchise support services. Her priority is helping franchisors develop and implement programs that increase franchisee profit.
Originally from the UK, Kate came to Seattle via Sydney, Australia where she held management roles with Kwik Kopy Australia and SIGNWAVE® - which in the USA, Canada and the UK you’ll know as FASTSIGNS®.
Kate’s broad experience gives our franchise clients ‘one of their own’ on our team. With a clear understanding of what it takes to get things done in the real world of franchising, Kate helps our clients and their franchisees move from idea to action.
Kate’s approach is ‘roll up her sleeves’ practical. The rewards for those who work with her are optimism, energy and the knowledge that Kate will be there to cheer at every success.
KATHY HASTINGS
Account Director
Kathy is our account director and customer care genie. Her mission at Profit Soup is to understand your needs and wants and work with our team to craft the best possible solution.
Kathy’s background is as training director for an international student travel company and in business development for a Seattle financial education company. She has worked alongside numerous franchise organizations, trade associations and financial institutions in the US and Canada.
Kathy has us all smiling and dancing throughout the day with her hallmarks of humor, integrity, respect and delight. Her degree in romance languages brings further international flavor to Profit Soup and she is our “go to” person for restaurant recommendations.
SARAH BALDWIN
Research Associate
Sarah is research associate at Profit Soup. She is also our director of first impressions and is the person you are likely to speak with when you pick up the phone to dial Profit Soup.
Sarah’s degree is in literature and she has experience in publishing and editing. Her responsibilities include survey design, research and report writing as well as providing the organizational backbone of our office.
Sarah is originally from Wisconsin and is a literature and music enthusiast as well as an accomplished pianist. She can be seen giving a quizzical eye to Kathy’s aforementioned office dancing antics.
JODY KECK
Financial Analyst and Database Architect
Jody is our financial analyst and database architect. She holds a degree in mathematics and psychology and gives the numbers side of Profit Soup a human face.
Jody brings high level analytical skills to Profit Soup. She works along side our clients on survey design and data collection as well as creating the databases that underpin our analysis. Jody is a whiz at compiling and analyzing data and is well respected for her thoughtful attention to detail and thorough follow up.
Away from the office, Jody is an enthusiastic hiker and loves to take in the beautiful Washington scenery. She can complement Kathy’s restaurant advice with recommendations for local walks.
